BOARD OF EDUCATION

SPECIAL MEETING

HIGH SCHOOL SCIENCE ROOM

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2008

6:30 P.M.

 

1.0       Meeting Called to Order and Roll Call:  Vice President Jamison called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.  All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while this meeting was open to the public.

 

Present were Board Members Micheal Dwyer, Kristie Gilmore, Mark Jamison and Jill Schreck.  Also present was Superintendent Nate Stineman, Lynn Johnson, secondary principal, Chad Radke, elementary principal, George Bosshart, Buildings and Grounds Supervisor, and Harvey Anderson, Les Reimer and Merle Rambo from Facilities Cost Management. Board Members Susie Moravec and Tom Kratochvil were absent. 

 

1.1       Pledge of Allegiance

 

2.1       Review and Select Any and All Construction Bids:   Reviewed value engineering items as presented. 

           

            Moved by Jill Schreck and seconded by Mark Jamison to authorize the district’s owner representative, Facilities Cost Management Group, to prepare contracts for base bids scope of work to the apparent low bidders for combined construction, educational casework and carpet contracts and to authorize the board president to enter into said contracts on behalf of the district upon review and recommendation of the superintendent and FCMG, and to authorize the district to issue notices to proceed to these contractors, with the understanding that value engineering options offered to the district by the combined contractor shall remain open for selection by the district for a period of not less than thirty (30) days as of September 24.2008.  Motion carried on a 4-0 roll call vote with Dwyer, Gilmore, Jamison and Schreck voting in favor of the motion.  Moravec and Kratochvil were absent.

 

Adjournment:  There being no further business meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
