The federal regulations on Title IX require each covered school district or educational service agency to make “publicly available” on their websites all “materials used to train Title IX Coordinators, investigators, decision-makers, and any person who facilitates an informal resolution process.”  For your convenience, we are providing the following link, and log-in credentials, for you to post on your district’s website:

Please note that the license that we grant for access to these materials is limited to public access for informational purposes only and does not include the right to use such materials for training purposes.  In other words, we’re providing this for the sole purpose of the posting requirements.

You may recall that the federal regulations also require the district to post certain materials on its website and to provide certain notices or disclosures.  If you have not done so already, we recommend that you create a Title IX page for your website that is clearly accessible from your home page.  The Title IX page should include the following:

1. The contact information for the Title IX Coordinator (including the name or title, office address, electronic mail address, and telephone number of the employee or employees designated as the Title IX Coordinator(s)).

2. The specific policy and notifications required by the regulations.  The following sample meets those requirements:

It is the policy of the Arlington Public Schools that no person shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any of the school district's programs or activities.  The district is required by Title IX (20 U.S.C. § 1681) and 34 C.F.R. part 106 to not discriminate in such a manner.  This non-discrimination policy extends to admission and employment, and inquiries about the application of Title IX and 34 C.F.R. part 106 to the district may be referred to the district's Title IX Coordinator, the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights of the United States Department of Education, or both.

3. The district’s grievance procedures that provide for the prompt and equitable resolution of student and employee complaints alleging any action that would be prohibited by the federal regulations and a grievance process that complies with the Title IX regulations for formal complaints.  This notice should include how to report or file a complaint of sex discrimination, how to report or file a formal complaint of sexual harassment, and how the district will respond.

4. The link and log-in credentials for the KSB training materials that we provided above.

5. Copies of (or links to) all other training materials used to train Title IX Coordinators, investigators, decision-makers, and any person who facilitates an informal resolution process.
